Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not in your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will make your path straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
This verse is pretty straight forward, right? God is merely asking us to trust His judgement above our own. Once we obey that, He will reward us by guiding each of our lives into a better path. That seems so great, yet you and I both know how extremely difficult that is.
How our we supposed to trust God in all circumstances? I know I had to. My mother died in a car accident 20 years ago this year and it’s been an uphill battle accepting that. She was called an “earthly angel” when she walked the Earth. She had beautiful, long brown hair. She had the most elegant singing voice, and she loved my brother and I very much. We were a happy little family, until a red pick up truck ripped her out of our lives in a blink of a second. My forehead wasn’t the only thing that took damage. My faith did as well. For half of my life I was very angry at God. How could He have planned for my mother to be taken away from me at such a young age? I constantly looked at my reflection, seeing the scar that the accident left on my face, and in my own heart. It took so much prayer and council, but God opened my eyes to why He did. My mother was taken from me, but then he gave me a new one. Along with two sisters. My once small family doubled in size and I couldn’t be more happy. I even have a beautiful niece and another baby on the way thanks to God’s plan.
I learned that I need to trust God all the time. It’s very difficult, but the reward is so worth it. Whatever trial you’re going through, know God has a plan for you. He doesn’t want you to waste energy trying to figure it out on your own. Trust His way, and He will make your path straight. 😊❤🌈
