Today is Valentines Day. Most people are probably resenting today. While you may see women carrying beautiful bouquets of roses in your work place or you may pass by all the cars parked at local restaurants, today is so much more than just spousal love. Today is the expression of love and how we can show our friends and family how much we care. The focal point of this post today is, I want you to know about a supernatural kind of love. A love that calls you treasured. A love that calls you wanted. A love that is the greatest gift of all.
You are Treasured: “For you are a holy people, who belong to the LORD your God. Of all the people on earth, the LORD your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure.” Deuteronomy 7:6 NLT
While you may not receive a diamond necklace, God’s love identifies you as a diamond. This world may only view you as a rusty silver spoon, but don’t let those lies fool you. You are a precious gem in the Royal Crown of God. Just think over that for a moment.
You are Wanted: “See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.”1 John 3:1 NLT
Today you may have awoken to feeling lonely. You may be sitting on your couch wondering why you are not wanted in a worldly kind of way. Notice how it says in the verse above this: But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. There are a lot of people that will give into the fact that they think only worldly desires will fulfill them. God says differently! His love is from above. A Heavenly kind of love. His love is sweeter than honey, His love is deeper than the deep, blue seas. His love is the only love that can heal and satisfy.
Love is The Greatest Gift of All: “Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT
Those roses you see every where will decay. Those silver necklaces you see will rust. Some people will go right back to deceiving the person they claimed they love the day after Valentine’s Day. Here is one thing that is true: God’s love is forever. He will constantly pour out His love from His eternal waters. He cares for you deeply. Remember that you are loved, a love that surpasses all understanding.
