The heart is the most essential organ that God gave us. It is what helps pumps immense amount of blood throughout our bodies. It generates 2,000 gallons of blood a day. Studies show that the size of your heart is accumulated by the size of your fist. Amazing right? If the heart stops beating, our entire nervous system shuts down and we die. The heart is a vital part of our being. Not only physically, but spiritually. Proverbs 4:23 tells us to “guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life.”
Ask yourself this question, how healthy is your heart? Are you taking care of it properly? What kind of foods are you intaking? Are you exercising? Those are the physical side questions. They are important, but these questions are more important: what influences your heart? Who do you let access into your heart? Does your heart belong to Christ or to Satan? Our heart is the gateway to our thoughts, emotions, people, etc. It’s important to decipher in what we let inside. We can either be consumed with the world and have a “unfeeling heart: “They are without pity. Listen to their boasting!” Psalms 17:10 NLT I have noticed how evident it is that this world has become so cold hearted. I’ve been watching a lot documentaries on crime events, and the press is out of control. The interviews I have seen are just a way to exploit ones’ personal life while the journalist makes his big time money. A little switch of words in an allaby and there goes someone’s life down the drain. David is warning us of these kind of people. It’s important to protect your heart and make sure that the people you let have your best interest, or else you will fall for their evil schemes.
Overall, we should be striving for a heart that is full of life and love. In Pslams 119:2 it reads: “Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.” God has promised us a joyful life when we surrender our hearts over to Him. He knows it’s so difficult and the trials we face are so troubling. In John 16:33 it also states this: “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” It’s so moving to know that our hearts are guarded, built up, and owned by Someone who wants to be apart of it. God loved you so much, more than anything you can think of. If you’re broken hearted, know that God is near (Psalms 34:18). He wants to be apart of your heart forever. ❤💛💚💙💜💗💖💝
